Big Bear truly is a four season resort. From skiing, snowboarding and sledding in the winter, to fishing and hiking in the spring, to boating, kayaking, and parasailing in the summer – there is no limit to the activities available for visitors and locals alike. One of the best activities to participate in during the fall months? Mountain biking. With daytime temperatures in the mid-70’s, the summertime crowds gone and the forest changing color, October is the perfect time to experience mountain biking in Big Bear. There are hundreds of
miles of trails throughout the valley ranging from beginner to advanced, and the scenic sky chair at Snow Summit is still open every weekend. There are several local shops that rent mountain bikes and you can get trail maps and gear there as well.
This year the trails are in particularly great shape due to the spectacular rains we had in August and September, and the forest foliage is just starting to change over to its gorgeous yellows, oranges and reds. It really is beautiful and an amazing experience, especially if you’ve never been up on the trails before.
Because it is the ‘off’ season, RS Vacations has some really great deals on cabin rentals. Visit us today to book online and don’t miss your chance at seeing Big Bear in the fall!
