Come and celebrate Wolf Awareness Day at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo on October 19, from 11 am to 3 pm.
There will be educational and fun things to do at the zoo. The Big Bear Alpine Zoo joins other zoos and animal sanctuaries around the country in celebrating Wolf Awareness Week. They will dispel the many misconceptions and myths about wolves. The event educates the public on the important role that wolves play within the ecosystem. There will also be a rendition of Little Red Riding Hood, where we will learn that the wolf is not so bad after all.
Practice your howling skills and see if your howl is good enough to get the wolves to howl back. The zoo currently has 12 gray wolves to howl with.
