Labor Day Weekend and the un-official end to the summer season in Big Bear Lake is upon us. We are expecting absolutely beautiful weather this holiday weekend with high temps hovering right around 80° with scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Gorgeous!! It is the perfect time to escape the heat and have some fun – on the lake, in the forest or around town. There is so much to do in Big Bear!

This weekend, we have some fun special events going on. The Kids Adventure Games are happening at Bear Mountain Resort, Support DOVES by stopping by the “Cool Run in the Mountains” Car Show at the Convention Center, enjoy local art by visiting the Village and checking out the Labor Day ‘Art on the Corner’ event, or enjoy some amazing Tribute Bands and donate to a worthy cause at the final concert of this year’s Music in the Mountains Series. “Fatal 80’s” 80’s Tribute at the Cave

Fronted by Gretchen Bonaduce, The Fatal 80’s entertains fans with their outrageous costumes, choreographed dance moves, high energy songs that guarantee every audience a show full of dancing, laughing and entertainment.

CATS Presents “Steel Magnolias” at the CATS Warehouse Theater

The 2nd Annual Big Bear Kids Adventure Games at Bear Mountain

The Big Bear Kids Adventure Games features a kid sized adventure race where teams of two navigate a ‘natural terrain’ inspired obstacle course. Kids can expect mountain biking, hiking, zip-lines, a Tarzan rope swing, giant Slip-n-Slide, river tubing, cargo nets, mud pits and more.  This is a fun and confidence building outdoor experience for kids ages 6-14. A great day out for the whole family!

Skills Clinic for Kids  (Separate registration) on Saturday with races from 9am til early afternoon both Sunday and Monday.

The Long Run, Experience the Eagles, co-headlines with Led Zepagain, Tribute to Led Zeppelin, on the Big Bear Discovery Center Amphitheater stage.  We’re closing the season with two of the most authentic ‘next best thing’ bands delivering the energy and sound of their iconic legends in their prime; one night; one stage, performing some of the best classic rock music ever written!

28th Annual Antique Car Club Fun Run in the Village

The 28th Annual Antique Car Club’s Fun Run takes place Friday August 11th through Sunday August 13th. The Fun Run features a car show with 500+ cars – roadsters, classics, antiques and hot rods, lining the streets of Big Bear Village. Friday is registration day from 9-5 pm for participants at the Bartlett Parking Lot, Saturday is the day to view the cars on display from 9-4 pm and the Fun Run drive around the Lake takes place at  3pm at the end of day on Saturday, and the awards ceremonies are on Sunday starting at 9:00 am.

“The Spazmatics” Ultimate 80’s Show at the Cave

The Spazmatics were born in the spring of 1983 when physics professor Kevin Stigwood of Alta Dena High in Thousand Oaks California, lost a debate over String Theory to an upstart pupil in front of the entire student body and faculty. As agreed to by both parties, the loser would have to do anything that the winner demanded, and the victorious prodigy demanded that Mr. Stigwood perform “She Blinded Me With Science” by Thomas Dolby during half-time at an upcoming state basketball championship game.

Aaron’s Big Bear Bass Tournament Championship Series

16th Annual Big Bear Renaissance Faire

The 16th annual Big Bear Valley Renaissance Faire takes place August 5-6, 12-13, 19-20 and 26-27 at Pederson’s Mill in Fawnskin. Our Faire is a continual day of mirth and merriment, excitement and education. The village streets lead you past crafts, costumes, food, stages, and games. The Enchanted Shire has six stages of ongoing shows performing every half-hour. There is also an arena for the jousts and the Great Square for pirate battles, maypole dances, and other fun!
