23rd Annual Holcomb Valley Trail Run

Jun 15, 2019 | 07:00AM – 03:00PM

Starting at the water’s edge of Big Bear Lake, the Holcomb Valley Trail Run brings runners deep into the heart of the most scenic area in Big Bear, Holcomb Valley. Breathtaking views of the San Gorgonio Wilderness Area, Big Bear Lake, and the surrounding valley can be seen from the miles of single track running along the Pacific Crest Trail.  The Holcomb Valley Trail Run offers three separate distances: a 33-mile race, a 15-mile race, and a 7-mile race. Sections of the Pacific Crest Trail are part of each race course. This is some of the best trail running in Southern California; so sign up early, the race has sold out the past 5 years.

Now in it’s 23rd year, the Holcomb Valley Trail Run was established by Gary & Pam Kalina in 1997. Gary was an avid runner; he realized that some of the best trail running in Southern California was right here in Big Bear. Their involvement is crucial to the success of the event. Gary and Pam had decided after 15 years of event directing and coordination it was time to close that chapter in their life. Team Big Bear now runs the event in their honor.

Big Bear Lake Village Summer Wine Walk:

WineWalkFlyerThe Tubes in Concert:

The Tubes are a San Francisco-based rock band whose 1975 debut album included the hit single “White Punks on Dope”. During its first fifteen years or so, the band’s live performances combined quasi-pornography with wild satires of media, consumerism, and politics. They are perhaps best remembered for their 1983 single “She’s a Beauty”, a top 10 U.S. hit with a frequently-played music video in the early days of MTV; and in the 1980 film Xanadu singing the rock portion of the cross-genre song “Dancin'” opposite a big band.

The Cave is a new, intimate music venue with state of the art sound and lighting that promises to bring you up close and personal with its performers. Doors open at 6:30 pm Concert starts at 7:30 pm. Call or visit website for ticket information.
